Key Responsibilities
β Export Documentation & Customs Compliance
- Prepare and verify all export documentation such as Commercial Invoice, Packing List, Bill of Lading, Certificate of Origin, FSSAI/Phytosanitary/Health Certificate (as applicable).
- Handle AD Code registration, GST LUT, and E-way bills for export.
- Ensure compliance with Indian Customs and DGFT (Directorate General of Foreign Trade) guidelines.
- Work with CHA (Customs House Agents) for timely clearances and avoid penalties/demurrage.
International Duties, Regulations & Product Permissions
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of import duties, taxes, and HS Codes of key countries (e.g., USA, UAE, EU, Australia).
- Verify restricted, banned, or controlled items per country and guide internal teams for permissible SKUs.
- Collaborate with trade lawyers or embassies to ensure alignment with global trade treaties and FTAs (Free Trade Agreements).
Supply Chain Automation & Cost Optimization
- Build systems for calculating country-wise supply chain cost including shipping, taxes, documentation fees, warehousing, and insurance.
- Liaise with international freight forwarders, carriers, and logistics tech partners.
- Automate documentation workflows using tools like EXIM software, ERP integrations, SAP/GST-ready platforms.
Trade Intelligence & Market Entry
- Provide customized trade insights for export planning based on compliance, costs, and duty structures.
- Help prioritize low-barrier, high-margin countries for product launches.
- Create a legal matrix for country-specific regulatory and compliance filters.
π§ Ideal Candidate Profile
Skills & Expertise
- Hands-on experience with Indian EXIM policy, DGFT norms, and custom clearance process
- Strong understanding of Incoterms (EXW, FOB, CIF, DDP, etc.)
- Deep knowledge of global HS Code classification
- Familiarity with platforms like IceGate, DGFT portal, TRACES, and GSTN
- Experience with duty drawback, MEIS/RODTEP schemes, and trade documentation digitization
- Proven exposure to international logistics & freight negotiation
Preferred Qualifications
- PG Diploma / MBA in International Business / EXIM Management
- Certifications in Export Documentation or Customs Compliance
- Experience in SaaS-driven export tech platforms or supply chain automation projects is a big plus
